Gustavo Rezende shows his bronze figures sculptures where he creates narratives that oscillate between identity and uneasiness, and the series “crepe sexy thing” where he constructs relief figures made of masking tape and applied directly on a painted wall, representing groups of people in ambíguos scenes. He has graduated in architecture by Faculdade de Belas Artes, has a master at the Goldsmith's College, London and is a doctor in Visual Poetics by USP Sao Paulo.

He has shown in several institutions such as MAM São Paulo, Paço das Artes, Pinacoteca do Estado, MAM Rio, ‘Geografia Negra’ at Centro Universitário Maria Antonia, ‘Panorama das Artes 1999’ at MAM (1999) and Havana Biennal (1991). In 1994 he was in a residency Project at Goldsmith's College, London, and in 2006 at Cité des Arts, in Paris.
