Using everyday found materials, Wu constructs contemporary dreamscapes; many of his works are based on modern, globalized Asian cities—a far cry from the mountains and waterfalls of _shan shui_. His art nevertheless remains meditative and quietly enthralling in its skillful use of light and shadow.
